“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small
matters compared to what lies within us.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
This saying by Emerson, to me, really
describes what it means to be “Keepers of the Trust”. It isn’t merely what we do for our clients and our
fellow employees that is important, but who we are. What we do is just a series
of actions. Who we are as people,
based on what lies within us, determines our actions and those actions will
leave a lasting impression or “brand” on those we interact with daily.
Our actions should be based on our core
values and should never be something that we turn on and off, but should be the
way we live. Who we are will be the reason our clients turn to us for help and
answers because they trust us to be who we say we are. Who we are will shape
our future and most importantly, how people think of Iron Mountain
when they hear our name.
